The Mitty at Road Atlanta

Located 45 minutes east of Atlanta, Road Atlanta is a world-class race track that hosts a variety of events, They have amazing supporting facilities, a great infield, and a brand new 6 story tower that has everything you could think of needing at a day at the track. I love having the opportunity to come out and shoot here. The variety of turns and the changes in elevation make for such a cool venue to come take pictures for. All 175 acres of the property offer something that is set up for enjoyment of the spectators. The most popular spectator location, ‘the Esses’ provides a automotive viewing experience unlike anything i have imagined. Road Atlanta should be on every gear head’s list of places to visit.
The Mitty is one of the poster events at Road Atlanta, and it surely did not disappoint. Over 15 classes of cars, each very different from each other, took the track this past weekend while racing each other for 20 minute times to get the fastest lap on the board. I have never seen a real GT40 racing retired formula cars on the same track at the same time until now. Truly a spectacle, the Mitty was a great event at a great track.
