This past weekend, Road Atlanta was the busiest I have ever seen it. That’s right, I went to the nationally-recognized track once again. This time, however, it was not for 4-wheeled racing. Instead, they hosted MotoAmerica’s Superbikes tour, a nationwide racing circuit. The infield and surrounding areas were jam packed full of people that came from all over to watch motorcycles fly by at 180 mph pulling the front tire off the ground as they crest a hill. I quickly realized that even though I was approved for their media credentials and was able to get closer than the spectators, bikes are much more difficult to photograph than cars. The event is laid out in 5 different classes of motorcycles that do 2 races each, with warmups and practices in between.
